But I believe that it has more to do with a feeling that the holiday season marks the passing of yet another year. We wonder, where has the time gone? What have I done with my life? In other words, it's not Christmas that sneaks up on us. It's mortality. A little holiday shopping is great fun. Too much numbs our innate sense that life is too precious to waste in the mall. Instead of being disappointed by yet another Chia Pet gift, why not get the presents you want? The card shows a bright Moon in the sky, which symoblizes the REFLECTION of your dream. You hold a vision in your mind and it reflects "out there" and is then reflected back to you in reality. But what are those funny looking drops coming out of the moon? They are your vision returning to concrete form in little bits and pieces. They are suspended in mid air to suggest that you have time to rearrange them into just what you want before they land in concrete form. The card is one of only two that are called "imminent" cards, meaning at this stage you have started a process of creating something and it has left the dream stage and is manifesting into reality so you better get REALLY clear what it is you want so you make those bits and pieces fit your picture. I think a more modern picture might be a jigsaw puzzle with all the pieces suspended in mid air and about to land and make the picture that was on the box. If you hurry, you could rearrange the pieces into a new picture that you want instead of what was on the box cover. You do that by having a very vivid picture in your mind that directs the pieces into your picture. In Huna, Hawaiian mysticism, this same process is shown in the grape cluster I talk about all the time. Those many 'grapes' that go to make up your desired image are the same as these drops falling from the moon. Funny how these ancient peoples from the other side of the earth came up with the same idea! In This Issue: Finding Your Heart's Desire "That's What We Call Psychic, You Fool!" Maintaining Balance in the face of THE HOLIDAZE "Don't Touch That Damned Thing" Guest Blog Waiting for the Bottom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FINDING YOUR HEART'S DESIRE (Hint: It was never lost.) Maybe it's the economy. Maybe it's just the time of year...."back to school" mentality. Whatever the cause, nearly every day I work with someone who is bored with their career and even their life and they come to me searching for their heart's desire....their "purpose" here on earth...that meaningful work that will make them feel fulfilled. But nearly everyone starts the conversation with similar words. This "thing" they seek is "out there somewhere." They have never experienced it; they don't know what it is; they have no idea how to find it. Surely the wise old psychic will tune into God through the Ethers and reveal all. All will be well by the end of the hour. I smell disappointment coming....! The irony is that in virtually all cases I deal with, the person DOES know what their heart's desire is. It was there all along. The problem is that they have covered it over for a variety of reasons and it may in fact be the psychic's job to dislodge it by removing the issue that blocked it in the first place. In thirty years of helping people find their heart's desire, I have never said something like, "I see you as a nun," and have the client say, "Gee...I never knew that. It's never entered my mind." Instead, the usual response is tears of recognition followed by valuable information about the blockage. "Yes, I wanted to be an artist/nun/writer/whatever but my father/mother/husband/wife/teacher said I didn't have any talent for it so I shelved the idea." You don't need to go to the psychic to find this illusive heart's desire. Wait a minute....what am I saying?! OF COURSE YOU DO. You should see the psychic weekly. Just don't be surprised if the psychic tells you something you already know. The main issue is finding a way to hear from yourself. Finding a way to go inside past the clutter that has blocked you so you can hear for yourself what you most want. How to do that is the issue. Counseling often helps, if you have the time and money to wait out the answer. Burning bush experiences can reveal it, but those get rarer the further we get from the Medieval age. There are courses you can take and books you can read that may help. But ultimately you will have to find a method to access your own inner guidance system and hear what you knew all along. (See the next article for a suggestion.) Then the real challenge will be to ACT on that information, and that for most of us is the really scary part. I frankly think that in most cases, myself included, we consciously stuff our own heart's desire deep into our subconscious so we don't have to deal with it....don't have to make all the effort it would take to activate it. I'm afraid we are too often simply.....lazy! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "THAT'S WHAT WE CALL 'PSYCHIC' YOU FOOL!" Someone recently asked where I learned Huna, Hawaiian mysticism, so I'll mention it here. I met astrologer Diana Stone at a strange cocktail party. She sat in the corner wearing a white feather boa. You gotta get to know anyone who can carry that off! We had a fascinating discussion and a metaphysical connection and she finally said, "Be in my office tomorrow." You listen to a woman wearing a feather boa. The next day she did my first astrological chart where she declared me not only a Virgo but a Double Virgo. And through the reading she asked, "Did you ever think you might be psychic?" "Oh for God's sake. NO! As you just said, I'm a Virgo. We don't believe in that nonsense." But after she said it three times, I said, "Well, I do this thing called 'distance viewing,'" and proceeded to describe it. You'd have to know Diana to get the full impact of seeing this dramatically beautiful woman with black hair and black flashing eyes, lean toward me and say, "That's what we call PSYCHIC, you fool!" Duh. Double DUH. "I just wish there were a group or some place I could go to practice and learn about this strange stuff." Coincidence of coincidence, it turned out Diana had a group meeting in just a couple of hours. A HUNA group. And that's where I began my decades-long love of the very practical system called HUNA. I love to study, and I exercise that in my 30 year study of the Tarot and Kaballah. But I also love the practical. My company name is even Practical Metaphysics. Here is one of the great lessons from the Tarot. I sure wish I practiced it more often. So do as I say, not as I do! The Justice figure (the LIBRA card) holds the balance scales and the whole card is about how to maintain balance in our lives. But to my surprise, when I first studied this card, the Tarot definition of "balance" is NOT keeping things even, equal, or in equilibrium. I thought that WAS the definition of balance, but it turns out it's not. The Tarot says that true balance is an OVERALL equality, over time, but not necessarily at the moment. For example, maybe we want to keep our work life very balanced and even. We only work forty hours a week and get upset if we have to work more. But the card would say that there are times when it may be necessary to go out of balance...to work that Saturday. But what we often forget to do in order to bring us back into balance is to take a Friday off! That's what the card is saying. Balance is attained OVERALL by how we treat ourselves. To keep your life in perfect balance at all times would lead to boredom. It's good to go out of balance. But you have to go out of balance in the opposite direction to find the overall balance. This is hard to do with the coming HOLIDAZE. We all tend to eat too much, go too hard, spend too much, but instead of beating yourself up over these imbalances, just enjoy them and then sit back and ask yourself what you can to do compensate. You can sleep in a little more; you can eat less next week; you can save money now so you can afford to splurge then. You have to look at the overall, broad picture and take actions that will bring you back into balance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "DON'T TOUCH THAT DAMNED THING!" Those were my Grandfather's words to me and my brother any time 'that damned thing' in the kitchen would ring. Only Grandma could touch that black thing and she did so often and for hours collecting gossip for her little column in the local paper. I don't believe Granddad ever touched that new fangled technology. My next memory is of my father getting a long distance phone call all the way from NEW YORK CITY! "You boys be very quiet and just listen," my Mother said as we all huddled by the phone in the kitchen as my Father SPOKE VERY LOUDLY AND CLEARLY clear across the country. Now that damned thing rings in my pocket or stirs my loins in vibrate mode. The damn thing is in every room in the house; is in my car; pops up on my computer. The point is: The new fangled way of using that old fangled instrument means you can have a phone reading virtually anytime and anywhere. Granddad would be apoplectic, but I make a living with it. Locally, in the Portland market, we're experiencing a real boom. For example, the inventory in January was 19 months. That is, if there were no new listings on the market, and based on the number of sales per month, it would take 19 months to sell all the inventory. In September that inventory had dropped to 7 months! That's almost a normal supply. And real estate is like any other commodity. I've taught visualization for over 20 years in an all day workshop. The problem with that is it's a one shot deal. Either you 'get' it or you don't. Now it's all on video and you can review it at leisure or go through the guided visualizations with each new thing you want to manifest in your life. More information will follow when it's up and running so stay tuned! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BRAINSTORMING Perhaps it's because I just had a birthday and I'm losing little bits and pieces of my mind, but I swear I've written about Brainstorming before. I'm unable to find it and several clients have asked about it so here it is....possibly again! This process is often frustrating yet always productive, so stick with me on this. I use this when I need more information about a topic that's bugging me. These are usually broad issues in my life. Find the issue. How to improve my business income; How to have a new relationship; What would improve my health? Decide on the issue at hand and write it on the top of a piece of paper or legal pad. Now go to the bathroom, get a drink, check your email or anything else that could distract you. Then you lock yourself in a room with a timer and you stay there staring at the paper for one hour. No more...no less. The next 20 minutes can be maddening. Trust me, I've been there often. This is stupid; this is unproductive; I need to do real work; I want to go to the gym. But you're strong. You will just sit there and focus on the topic and wait. Every therapist I've talked to knows this problem. The first 20 minutes or so of a therapy session are really a waste of time. The client fidgets, wrings hands, moans and complains, and then at some point the client heaves a big sigh, and the therapist knows the real work can now begin. Now you start taking notes, but make them only short one-liners. Perhaps an idea comes up like "Redesign the website." Write that down. But here's the other really hard part. DO NOT start thinking about the website. Maybe blue instead of red background? Who would I get to do it? STOP. Your job in this hour is only to get ideas for the future NOT to figure out the ideas. At the end of an hour, especially the second half of the hour, I may have three pages of one-liner things to do that could take me months to accomplish. The Brainstorm session is merely to generate new ideas for the future, not to come up with finished products. And another suggestion. Sometimes odd ideas pop up that appear to have no bearing on the issue. I remember the first time I did this, a certain client came up once, twice, and finally a third time at which point I said to myself, take notes! Write her name down, even though it makes no sense now. It turned out weeks later that I remembered her husband had a very good business connection to me and I made that happen later. Finally...and this can be difficult....when the egg timer goes off and the hour is over, STOP even if you're not finished. I sort of see Mrs. Pine in the fifth grade saying, "Pencils down. Donnie! I mean it...put your pencil down. Test is over." If you really think you have lots more information to collect, agree to sit down for another hour session in a few days, but don't dry up the well at this point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ASK THE PSYCHIC "I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here, and I know you've answered the question before, but I still don't get it. How do you think the psychic process works? Do your "guides" feed you the information? Do you tap into the Akashic Record somehow? Does God tell you what to say? Still Confused Dear Confused: First, shame on you for using the unfortunate metaphor of the dead horse. Having just had my Medicare Birthday, "dead" and "aging" are on my mind. Be gentle. I truly don't have an answer for this question and I hear it all the time. I should just make up something and be done with it. As a Double Virgo I tend to live in the left brain, love to analyze, and love to read. So for a couple years after I was hit with the psychic thing, I went to the library and bookstores looking for answers. I wanted to either prove it does exist or prove that it doesn't. I did neither. And then one day my good friend and mentor Diana Stone finally said in exasperation: "Just shut up and do it!" I've been listening to her ever since. I am not much of a fan of a God living on a throne in the sky, so I don't believe s/he is feeding me the answers. I cannot believe there is some record in the sky or some script that was written just about you and that only select people, such as psychics, are given permission to cheat and look ahead at the answers. I suspect it has something to do with SpaceTime theory that Einstein was working on when he died. I try to read about such things but not being an astrophysicist, I usually don't get past the first chapter. I'm content to live with the fact that Einstein couldn't figure it out either, so those of us who are still questioning are in really good company. I suggest you put this 'dead horse' away and just call for an appointment! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALLING ALL WRITERS Check the Networking section on the right of this page. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE HERMIT CARD Happy Birthday Virgos This is the Virgo card....obviously the best card in the deck! But what about it makes it the Virgo card? It rules the upper intestine and Virgos are notorious for having stomach troubles. This is also the 'way shower' or teacher card, and it's curious the number of people in a teaching position who are Virgos. Those ancient philosophers/astrologers seemed to know what they were doing when they assigned cards to signs! This is one of my favorite cards to teach because it shocks people. I begin by asking where you think he's standing. It appears he's on top of a mountain with other snowcapped mountains around. And that's true in one metaphorical sense. But if you saw the actual card, you'd see that the blackness around it is very odd. In fact, he isn't on top of anything at all, but he's standing inside the intestinal track! Those white mountains are really folds in the intestine. (See what kind of trouble you could get into by "playing" with the cards and not studying them?!) This card also rules diet and nutrition and how substance that is outside of your body magically gets absorbed into your body through the intestine walls. It would take pages to explain the entire process, but I find this one of the most useful and metaphysical cards in the deck. When I teach visualization classes and talk about when to hold your vision in your mind, I always suggest mealtime as the best time. The ancients suggested that perhaps you imprint your vision onto the food you are about to eat and that imprint crosses the barrier in your intestine, just as nutrition does, and that vision is then imprinted onto all your cells. Can't hurt! It's no wonder then that virtually all religious systems have some kind of ceremony dealing with food, in a communion sense. You might have your own communion right at home and give your vision an extra boost! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ONCE IN A LIFETIME At least we HOPE so! We don't want to go through this kind of economy again. But now that we're coming out of the recession, know that it may be the best time EVER for you to buy real estate. Rates are ridiculously low....for now. Inventory is still high, although many areas are seeing record sales. And the government will for the next month, and possibly longer, pay you $8000 if you have not owned a home for 3 years. And for serious buyers, here's an apparently little-known way to buy a house. On a contract with the seller. I have seen several such sales lately yet many new agents don't even know about this tool. When I first started my own real estate office on the Oregon Coast, I worked for 4 years and never sold a property with a mortgage! When I moved to the Big City, I had to take classes in how to sell with a mortgage. I only sold seller financed contracts because I was selling second homes that no one would finance. Here's how it works. There are often situations where the seller does not need all their money to go out and buy another home. Sometimes the seller is elderly and is living elsewhere. Or perhaps the seller already has another home. I always asked the seller what they were going to do with the proceeds. They often said, "Put it in the bank!" They won't make much interest that way. Why not BECOME the bank and lend that money out in effect. You the buyer offer a good amount down so they know you're serious and then you ask the seller to carry the contract, usually at a lower rate than the current interest rate. Then you simply make your payment to the seller, often through an escrow account so you know where the money went. Often sellers don't want long contracts, so you can agree to pay it off in 5 or 10 years by refinancing it when it's worth lots more anyway! The advantage is that there is NO loan fee, which can amount to thousands of dollars, and there is no qualifying other than what the seller wants to know about you. "Oh, what good it does the heart to know, it isn't magic!" Probably my favorite poem by my favorite poet, Mary Oliver. (If you care to read it: http://www.poemhunter.com/best-poems/mary-oliver/stanley-kunitz/ In the poem she describes Stanley Kunitz as Merlin the magician. Surely Kunitz has some magical powers to make such a beautiful garden. But in the second stanza she realizes he has no special powers except his WORK. He's on his knees pulling weeds, turning the soil, just as she could be doing. I run into this mythology every week if not every day in my practice and it's time to dispel the myth. I may be a traitor to my psychic "bros"...my tribe...but so be it. In the Medieval age, westerners were taught that to gain heaven they had to go through the priest, and the Pope, and the Church. These had the magical powers that would gain you paradise. We for the most part don't believe that anymore. Do we? DO WE? I fear we do, just in a different guise. I watch my fellow metaphysicians constantly implying they have some magic access to information or insights that mere mortals are not allowed. I watch them set themselves apart as special people with special skills. Perhaps we don't make people bow and scrape before us but the implications are still the same as in the Middle Ages. We are the Elect, and you are not. Constantly people come to me in the hopes that I will fix their problems because I have a pipeline to God and will bring down the answer from Heaven that will make everything OK for them. I remember the woman who left a reading quite disappointed because she was leaving with the same problems that entered with her. "Did you expect me to cure your cancer, your marriage, or your loss of a job?" "Well, sort of," she replied. I even hear this attitude in my coaching practice. Clients in their first session often say something like, "Now I can relax. You'll fix everything!" No, actually I won't! I am not a magician and don't believe in magic. And this is why many clients are ultimately disappointed in the psychic process and the coaching process. They quietly and subconsciously expected me to 'fix' them. "Did you do the exercise I suggested? Did you make those calls you said you would do? Did you even try a Grape Cluster?" "Well, er...not really. I didn't have time, yada, yada, yada." In essence then they were hoping that something magical would happen that would save them from even the most minimal of work or effort. But the poem says we should be HAPPY to know "it isn't magic." If we think someone else has magical powers, then we are excluded. We can never achieve what they have. We are lesser than they are. We should be glad to know we have the very same powers and very same chance of success as they have. If they are magical, so are we! But here's the part I really hate. Damn it, I hate it when my own beliefs, my own insights, my own WORDS come back and slap me in the face. I have finally pulled out a major writing project that I put on the shelf six months ago. I was told I need to revise and rewrite it. What! My "garden" looked so perfect, just as did Stanley Kunitz'. I thought some magical power had acted through me to write the perfect screenplay. When told it wasn't perfect, I pouted and put it away thinking all those other writers have some magical power to make them successful that I don't have, so I can never be successful. But slowly I'm coming to accept my own wise counsel and realize that more important and better than any imaginary magic, I do have the ability to work...to simply expend effort toward a result. I can pull weeds (edit) and replace what has died (that scene that never really worked.) And mostly I can revel in the knowledge that "it isn't magic" that makes for success but it's just simple effort, and I can do that! >From "365 Tao" lesson 359: The momentum is in favor of darkness. Glory is in favor of light. If you do nothing, you slip toward darkness. If you give the least bit of effort toward the light, you will be helped. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ASK THE PSYCHIC Dear Psychic: You have over the years said, or at least implied, that for some clients your psychic readings are spot on, and yet for others "not so much." How do you explain the difference? A long-time fan Dear Fan, The short answer: I don't know how to explain it. It's a cosmic mystery. The long answer: There are four elements in any readings. Me, the psychic; the client; the information; and what I might call the environment...the client's family interests, the general economy, the element of time. Take me first. Please! (I sometimes channel Henny Youngman.) I have good days and bad days. The temperature outside makes a difference. As I write this we are in a record heat wave so I cancelled my clients for several days. Nothing worse than a whiny psychic. There are topics in readings that interest me more than others, and some topics I won't even deal with because they are too close or painful for me. The time of day makes a difference. Clients often say they want me early when I'm fresh, but I say get me later when I'm wound up from all the previous readings. In short, I can be wrong. The client. There is a certain type of client, often male, who hears the information and calmly accepts it as truth and goes about doing what is necessary to make it happen. No fireworks. No drama. The psychic was totally right. Then there is the client who didn't want to hear the information in the first place even if it is true, so they resist it and fight it and defeat it. Psychic was obviously wrong. Then there is the neurotic client who doesn't really want change but wants to come spill their guts to someone who will listen. Cheap therapy. The information. Sometimes the information may be right but overwhelming to the client. "You want to be a doctor and should go to med school." May be true but the client can't imagine all the effort it would take. Or the information is too upsetting. "You don't love your husband and are really in love with the gardener, Lady Chatterley." Too much upset to even consider. Finally, the elusive 'environment.' I often warn clients that I have the best seat in the house....in my ivory tower. I don't have to come down to the level of paying bills, seeing doctors, taking classes, or all the other real world issues that a client has to face. Sometimes it's just the wrong timing. Maybe in 5 years when the kids are gone, you can work on becoming that writer/actress/nurse you always wanted to be. The psychic reading may be "right" in one sense and yet the external forces on a client make it unwise to make something happen. In summary, I might put the burden on the client and remind them that THEY make a reading come true or not. There are lots of forces acting on their decisions, but in the end the information is for them to use or not. (Whew. A Star is Reborn Big Give-Away Ambulance Chasing On The Website -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I DON'T KNOW WHY I DON'T USE YOU MORE OFTEN!" Indeed....I said. If the psychic process has worked for you in the past, why don't you use it more often? This particular client has had unusually good success with the psychic readings she's had and yet I don't hear from her for months and then usually just after I send out a Psychic Phlash, I get an urgent call for an emergency reading. Of course, that's the point of my Psychic Phlashes....to remind clients that I'm here. My newsletter crosses paths with their need and they call. But I can't send one every day so it's up to you dear readers to remember that this process is available. When is it appropriate to use the psychic process? ...When you have done the background work; collected the information you need in the situation; have perhaps even gotten other peoples' opinions; and still you can't make up your mind. You need another perspective; another point of view that may put you over the edge toward a decision. ...When you're too overwhelmed by the situation to even think straight and you need an outsider's perspective and direction. When is it NOT appropriate to use the psychic process? ...When you have a serious mental health issue and you're hoping a one-shot psychic reading will fix you! There are serious issues out there....depression, bipolar and other personality disorders for example....that no psychic process will fix and in fact could even make worse. ...When you have become dependent on the psychic process to make your decisions for you. I've occasionally talked clients out of yet another reading because they want to turn the decision making process over to me. Not healthy. I can't handle the responsibility either! Keep my name on your refrigerator to remind you of a process that just might help in your next quandary. And remember I do "quickies." A cheap quick email reading is often all that's needed if it's a simple question that needs a fast answer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SALON OR SALOON? A saloon is a kind of bar particular to the Old West. Saloons served such customers as fur trappers, cowboys, soldiers, gold prospectors and miners, and gamblers.(Wikipedia) A salon is a gathering of stimulating people of quality under the roof of an inspiring hostess or host, partly to amuse one another and partly to refine their taste and increase their knowledge through conversation and readings. (Wikipedia) The Human Potential Movement (HPM) arose out of the social and intellectual milieu of the 1960s and formed around the concept of cultivating extraordinary potential that its advocates believed to lie largely untapped in most people. The movement took as its premise the belief that through the development of "human potential", humans can experience an exceptional quality of life filled with happiness, creativity, and fulfillment.(Wikipedia) As a former English teacher, I would like to give you a writing assignment to combine any two of the above definitions into one glorious example of people getting together to share information about how to improve their lives, understand themselves and others better, and have a better understanding of how the universe works. I recently tried to show a real estate client a foreclosed property, and when I saw him visibily wince when I proposed it, I asked what bothered him about it. "I'd feel like an ambulance chaser! I'd be taking advantage of someone who's down on their luck." Wrong! The homeowner certainly was down on their luck and in fact their luck ran out in regards to this home. They had already lost the home and are no longer involved. The new "owner" of the home is literally the bank. The Devil made me remind my client of the recent bank scandals and when I asked the client if he would like to "steal" this house from the bank, he said, "Bring it on! Let's look." Keep it in mind. Dear Psychic, Are you your own psychic? I picked up a pack of tarot cards. There were a lot of ones to choose from. How do you choose what one to buy? What guidance would you give if one wanted to do their own reading? When I have money again I'll get a real reading. Overall, I like your newsletter and your new website is great! Thank you for asking that question. Or rather, THOSE questions. You may not like the answer, however. As for doing a "reading" on yourself, I highly recommend that you resist the urge. In fact, I don't believe we can do psychic readings on ourselves. It's like being tickled. You can't tickle yourself....but someone else can tickle you. I don't believe we can get enough objectivity to do readings on ourselves or close friends that we know too well. For example, if I did a reading on myself and said I think I'm about to win the lottery, I'd consider that a joke. Of course I want to win the lottery! But if I said I thought YOU were going to win the lottery, I'd suggest you buy a ticket. And I'd remind you that the predictor gets 6% of everything! (I have a real estate license so can charge a commission....) Now, about those tarot decks. I know that at New Renaissance Bookshop in Portland, there are over 50 different decks to choose from and they all are different and all have a purpose. They range from the authentic (...am I giving myself away here?...) like the Waite Ryder deck, to "cat tarot" decks. First, know that there are two kinds of tarot. There is what I call Capital "T" Tarot....which is the real thing connected to the ancient Kaballah. Then there is small letter tarot, which is any set of pictures put on cards. These decks are fine IF you know the symbol system they use. In fact, you can make up your own deck, which I almost did years ago, and they can be very valuable to you. But if you want to use and study the ancient information, you need to use one of the decks connected to that ancient symbol system, and to understand that system you must study it. I often hear people saying they get their interpretation of the cards psychically. I don't believe that. It is not up to me to say what I think the cards mean. I must know the ancient information encoded in the cards because that all comes from subconscious sources. For a bad example: I once had a woman call me, referred by the bookstore because they know I teach the Tarot, and she explained that she had just that day bought a deck of cards, read the little flyer in the box, and did a reading for her neighbor. He had asked about the future of his business and then he drew the Death card from the deck. She explained that he didn't need to worry about his business because he was going to die!! Somewhere out there is a man still haunted by that terrible "reading." In fact, if she had studied the cards, she would know the Death card is the BIRTHING card, suggesting that his business is about to birth something new! In short, be careful. I have such great respect for the Tarot (capital "T") and have spent nearly 30 years studying and teaching it, that I don't like to hear people say they "play" with the cards. I consider them a very serious and complex entry into your own subconscious. Study and use them wisely. And for that.....read the next article..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SALON SURVEY Three people in one week asked when I'm doing my next Tarot class/salon, so there must be something in the wind. I'm thinking/hoping to offer it again this fall but in which form? If you have any interest in learning the ancient information encoded in the cards, let me know which version of the class you would be interested in. For over twenty years I have often offered a class in this ancient tool. And NO, this has nothing to do with teaching you how to be a Tarot reader. I have no information about that or any interest in that. I am not a Tarot reader but am a student and teacher of the information in the system. What students learn from the class is 22 different aspects of themselves...22 ways to better understand themselves and their place in the universe. The class is all about YOU, not about the cards. For example, let's follow the last article and describe the Death card. This is the transformation and birthing card. We talk about how you allow yourself to let go of that which needs to die in you and to make room for what wants to grow in you. We talk about death. What do you think happens when you die? Then we discuss what happens to you when that career dies, or that relationship, and what you can do to replace it with something new. This is the kind of information and insight that will have you thinking and rethinking the class all week long! (You might be interested in listening to the short video about Tarot on the Front Page of my website: www.donclarkson.com) I propose offering one of the following, so let me know if you would be interested in a class this fall and which version you like. 1. The full deal. This covers the major arcana of the Tarot and covers 1 card per night for 22 weeks. This is also a coaching class where you spend 22 weeks being coached on some issue you want brought into your life. Several past students worked on new careers, or health issues, or creating a new relationship. We spend an hour or so discussing the evening's card and then we hear from each member of the group on what they want to create, what they plan to do this week to create it, and how last week went for them. The coaching alone would cost well over $1000 and the class alone would be $440. I charge only the $440 for it all. Such a deal! (And I take whatever payment arrangements help.) 2. This would be an 8 week class in more of a workshop format. The cards are arranged in a tableau of 7 columns with 3 cards each. We would do one column per 3 hour class, plus an introductory class that would cover the Fool card, which is separate, and also work on some practical tools that would be used throughout the class. This version would not include coaching and would cost $200. ---------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT THE WEBSITE My website is being updated as we speak so you might want to check it out periodically. And best of all...the government will give you $8000 if you are a first time home buyer, and First Time buyer is anyone who has not owned a home for 3 years. I just closed a sale where the buyer had the sellers pay most of his closing costs, so the check he had to bring to closing was under $6,000. When he files his taxes he will get $8000 back. I've referred to this mysterious reading a dozen times in the past few weeks, so it must be time to revisit it. This true story is the most upsetting, the most involved, the most scary, the most everything of any reading ever. Ain't it the way.....just when the economy goes south and you need help in your life, you can't afford the help! We all should have a coach assigned at birth and paid for by the government. But for now, many people could use some help and simply can't afford the coaching process which is not necessarily cheap. Here's my suggestion if you need coaching. Do some Self Coaching. Don't tell anyone I said this, but there really isn't any magic to coaching. It's all about focusing on what you want in your life, breaking it down into bite sized pieces that are doable, telling your coach you're going to do it, and then doing it so your coach doesn't yell at you! Where's the magic in that? Point is, you can do it for yourself. Here is my suggestion for Self Coaching: 1. Go to my website, download the forms for coaching, read them over once, set them aside for 24 hours, then sit down and fill them in quickly. The forms are designed to get your subconscious thinking about what you want in your life, so just filling them in is a major part of coaching. 2. Schedule an hour each week in your calendar for coaching. I suggest you use a sticky note or write in pencil because it may have to change. Try to keep it a sacred time though....give it the importance it deserves. 3. Decide each week in your hour session what actions you want to focus on this week. Then parcel those actions out in your calendar again with sticky notes. Not only decide what you want to do but WHEN you will do it. Then you don't have to spend any time wondering what you'll do toward your goal...your calendar will tell you. 4. Tell someone what your plan is. Have a buddy system if need be where your buddy is doing self coaching also. Email, phone, or talk to them about what your plans are. Ask them to follow up next week with what you said you would do. Perhaps even have a reward system for yourself and your buddy. If you accomplish all you promised, your buddy buys coffee that week. Trust me. This can work! But if it doesn't and you want more help, I'm here with full coaching and also what I call Power Coaching, an abbreviated form that focuses on one specific issue where you want movement. It usually lasts about 4 sessions and is much cheaper than full coaching. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ASK THE PSYCHIC (If you have a question that could have interest to this audience, send it to me.) God, I've been waiting for this question for years! I love the question and love the writer even more because she likes my sense of humor! But mostly I love the question because we all ask it much of the time. Remember the story of Job in the Bible. This is his question and ours: Dear Don ~ Your Psychic Phlashes ezine just cracks me up! Anyway, I do have a question: In the vein of Positive Thinking and The Secret, I constantly affirm my wealth, that God provides for our every need, that money flows to us...... I give money, things, food to help others... and I even admonish my teenage sons and husband (no he's not teenaged - well, nevermind) not to constrict the flow by being frustrated and negative. So far (over most of my lifetime), I've only gotten overdraft notices for my efforts! What gives? Thank you very much, Remember, Job's wife got sick and tired of his overdraft notices and she finally said, "Curse God and die!" Let us not go there! Let's try and fix the underlying problem. I believe the answer is in the HUNA system that I practice and preach. I believe this system has one element that no other has. Positive Thinking, The Secret, and a host of other systems all leave out the most fundamental part of the visualization, and that is overcoming our own negative thoughts about our goal. This is why Huna and even the Tarot that I have studied for 30 years are so against systems such as Affirmations. Saying the same positive statement over and over does nothing if there is a hidden subconscious voice saying just the opposite. And trust me. 99% of the time when you visualize or manifest or any other system, there IS a negative program inside you that you're trying to overcome, or you wouldn't be asking in the first place. The problem is for the most part we just paper over that objection, never acknowledge or deal with it, and go on our faithful way saying, "All will be well. God will provide." In the Huna system, the meat of the program is to hear your own fears and objections to what you want and then find ways to overcome them. If you don't overcome them, you are worse off than not visualizing at all. Now you THINK you're moving toward your reward but you probably are not, thus producing even greater frustration, enough to make you curse God and die! As luck would have it, I may have a cure. As we speak I'm working with my webmaster to do a video of my visualization class that I've taught for nearly 30 years. Soon that will be on my website. I am just off the phone with a mortgage broker who is trying to explain to me why a real estate buyer's interest rate is now higher than when I sold him a home 2 weeks ago. "There are market forces at work that....blah, blah, blah." "The Chinese, who hold the mortgage on America, are worried and they...blah, blah, blah." Similarly, as I write this, a news report that gasoline prices have gone up, which they always do in the summer. That seems odd that they go up just as we need the product most. So I wonder just what is the force that would drive prices up when we use a product most, whether it be gasoline or mortgages. I would like to tell you that I went into deep meditation; I traveled through the ethers to the seat of God for the answer; that I saw a burning bush in my front yard that revealed the answer. Maybe I'll just leave it at that and let you assume that's where I got the answer. But here is the answer as to why "they" do these things: B E C A U S E T H E Y C A N ! Let's not be naive. This is how capitalism works. It can seem to work against you, but here's a chance for you to beat the system! All indications are that the real estate market has bottomed out. Last months sales were near record HIGHS. First time buyers are rushing to cash in on the government's offer of $8000. Prices are still remarkably low and interest rates, while going up, are still ridiculously low at 4-5%. If you ever wanted to buy a house, this may be your finest hour! IN THIS ISSUE: Avoidance is your Friend! Ask the Psychic "What's Your Take on the Economy?" Wheel of Fortune Guest Blog ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- AVOIDANCE IS YOUR FRIEND?! I remind my coaching clients that they can have free psychic readings any time during our coaching relationship. Most take me up on that and even hound me for readings, but a few are skeptical and are more interested in the coaching than any 'weird' stuff. Janet was one of those. She hired me as a coach to help her get unstuck and move toward her goal of being a teacher. Something seemed to hold her back. Something kept her from finishing the course work she needed to become certified. Something always popped up that diverted her from her goal. She hired me and we set off using different tools to keep her on track. Nothing really worked. Just as before, there was always some excuse that kept her from doing the coaching work that she agreed to do each week. I had taken her at her word. She knew her goal was to be a teacher; she knew what she needed to do to get there; she just needed help staying on task. I was wrong. And so was she. After a month of frustration, I finally suggested yet again that it might be helpful if I did a reading on the situation to see what it was that kept her from succeeding. With more than a little apprehension, she agreed to the reading and I did my shtick. The minute I went into my mental workshop and brought her in, I saw her in a hospital. At first I was fearful that she had a serious illness and was about to be hospitalized, but as I watched the scene I realized she wasn't a patient but was a nurse! She was all in white and attending to patients and loving it. What? But she wants to be a teacher. Am I watching someone else? But as I continued to just sit and watch, it became very clear to me that this really was her deepest longing but somewhere on the way she had been diverted and took an easier path, which she thought would be that of elementary school teacher. I presented my picture to her. "I see you as a nurse...probably some kind of specialty nurse like cardiac care." Instantly her eyes welled up with tears, so I knew I had hit a nerve! Yes, it was true. Since her mother had died of cancer when she was a teenager, she had wanted to be a nurse specializing in cancer patients. She had started college with that in mind but money was in short supply and she was convinced it was more practical for her to get a teaching degree. But she never really forgave herself for not becoming a nurse and helping people who needed her. Now the coaching could begin! Within two weeks she had gotten the necessary information on what she needed to become a nurse and had found the money and courage to finish that path. From then on each week's coaching progressed. She was never diverted from her goal. This was a huge lesson for me in my coaching practice. Now when I have clients who continually avoid doing the coaching work they have chosen for the week, I make a point of suggesting we look at that psychically to see if there is a deeper reason. Usually there is! I've learned to read many client's avoidance as their way of saying, "I'm on the wrong path!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ASK THE PSYCHIC (Remember....you too might get a free reading here if you send me your question. Make it short, sweet and simple....not unlike myself! Ok, maybe I'm not really short at 6'2". ) Dear Mr. Psychic, I've been married to my husband for nearly ten years and love him very much. When I watch your situation I don't think you three will be walking down any aisles soon. I suggest you just coast for a few weeks and soon you're going to find out some disturbing news about Junior Romancer that will really upset you. My sense is that he is either legally married as we speak or so deeply involved with another woman that it shows up on my screen as a marriage. Either way you're being lied to and when you find this out you'll be glad you have your loving husband to go home to. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "WHAT'S YOUR VIEW OF THE ECONOMY?" Every week I get asked this, and more often than not from people who have never had a reading, don't believe in the psychic process, and are born skeptics. They usually ask in a joking manner, but they secretly are looking for some 'inside track' on how to protect themselves financially. Ok, believers and non-believers. Here's my prediction. And remember. Last March I said I didn't think we were heading into a recession so much as a depression. I'm sorry to say I was very right! My sense for the coming year is very different now. I'm Bullish on the economy. Or am I bearish....never quite sure which is which! I think the economy in general is about to make a major turnaround and by fall there could be some record changes in the stock market, housing, and general economy. That doesn't mean there are not hard luck stories and bad times ahead, but the pendulum is definitely swinging the other way. And as for my favorite, real estate, I see a major change happening as we speak. I recently sold a first time buyer a home after seeing him lose out on two homes he tried to buy because there were multiple offers on them. This time he got mad, made an offer $4000 over the listed price and got it. The home was only listed two days. This is like the olden days of 5 years ago! And here's exciting news if you are a first time buyer...and by first time buyer the government means anyone who has not owned a home for three years. If you buy in the next few months, the government will give you $8,000 credit. And as of yesterday, I was told that now you can even use that credit for your down payment at closing! Details are sketchy but now is the time to talk to your Realtor and mortgage broker. "Buy low...sell high" is the ancient maxim. I think this is about as low as it gets, so don't wait for prices and interest rates to climb! _______________________________________________________ SPEAKING OF THE ECONOMY: THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE The phrase we use for this card is "Moving toward your good fortune." I believe this is where the general economy is headed, but is that where you are heading? This is a tricky card, and your good fortune can be equally tricky. Notice the strange character on the rim of the wheel, who will be going up and down and around, at the mercy of the wheel. You do not want to be in that position! Instead, you want to be at the center of the wheel turning the wheel where you want it to go. In that position you are unmoved and immoveable! Staying centered, in other words. But what 'staying centered' really means in Tarot is staying focused on your vision or your picture of the future. Do I need to remind you again of the simple Grape Cluster as described at my website? IN THIS ISSUE: Three Similar Readings...Three Different Outcomes Blogger Alert A Little Testimonial on a Big Subject >From The Archives...A Different Kind of LOVE Frequent Flyer Club ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THREE SIMILAR READINGS....THREE DIFFERENT OUTCOMES Things often come in threes. I'm amazed that in a few days time I may run into three similar issues with clients. Three with drug problems; three in ugly divorces; even three people one week with runaway children. I've talked with other practitioners who report the same phenomena, so at least it isn't just my imagination. In the last few months you can understand that many clients have come with career issues. Who wouldn't be concerned in this economy? In the several dozen career readings I've done recently, three stood out because the reading seemed so similar. It's been fascinating to watch as these three clients' lives unfolded and to see how different their response has been to the reading. In all three readings I basically told the clients that I saw a new opportunity coming for them through their current job. It was not just getting a bonus or a small promotion, but a very different job either in the company or technically through the company to another division. In each case I felt it was wise to wait for this new exciting opportunity and they would be happy in the end. Client A took the reading as gospel. (Good thinking!) She and I have a long history of readings being accurate so she simply assumed I was right and she patiently waited for the new opportunity to appear. In about 2 months, it did. Through the entire process she was peaceful confident and happy to wait for better days. When the new job appeared, she almost forgot to tell me because it seemed like such a sure thing all along. Client B experienced the process very differently. Agony would be the best way to describe his response. He was not at all confident in the reading and was so concerned about his current job that he continued to look elsewhere. Soon he did find another job and it was offered to him. Emergency reading! (Psychic blood, I call it!) It was as though he had one foot on the dock and one in the boat and he was unable to decide. In the second reading I was as confident as ever that he would be offered a new position in his current company and suggested he wait for it. On the other hand...I too was nervous! Bird in the hand etc, etc. I hate to have people's lives hang on the balance with a psychic reading. Fortunately, in the very nick of time, the offer I had seen all along did come through and he was able to take it and reject the other offer. He now bows and scrapes when he sees me, as well he should! Client C was skeptical and nervous about the reading from the very beginning. She was way too panicked to wait patiently for the reading to come true. She too was offered another job across the country and even though she wasn't thrilled with it and hated to leave her current company, she needed the stability and safety of a sure thing. Soon after she had moved across the country, the opportunity I saw in her current company did come through and she reported being very disappointed that she hadn't stayed for it, but on the other hand she was safe and secure where she was and so was happy with the outcome. So, what's the lesson here? Listen to your psychic? Well, that for sure! But there's a bigger issue here. The psychic information may have been the same, but the people receiving it were NOT the same. And this is an element we often forget to think about when discussing readings and good advice from any source. The receiver of the information has to process that information through their own personality and do what's right for them. Each of these people responded very differently to very similar information and each had a different outcome. In the end, each got the RIGHT outcome....for them. Each did the best they could with the information and processed it according to their own personalities and they got what was best for them. Invitation to NETWORK MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE Stress Reduction Meditation ----------------------------------------------------------------------- FROM THE ARCHIVES: Following is a story I wrote some years ago but it bears repeating, especially for anyone who fears seeing a psychic is like going to the dentist! AS MUCH FEAR AS DESIRE... A client recently used that line to explain why it had taken her months to come in for her first psychic reading. Why anyone would fear a sensitive Virgo with blue eyes and a soft, charming voice is beyond me. But she did make a point about herself and most clients... as well as a much larger point about how we use desire to overcome fear. On a simple individual level, she expressed what most of us feel entering into this rather strange realm of the metaphysical. "Do I really want to know? What if he tells me I'm going to die? And besides, by what authority does he tell me anything? Who does he think he is, God?" Or worse yet, "Maybe he'll lie to me. Maybe he sees something terrible but is too nice to tell me." Fat chance... blue eyes or not! The basic misunderstanding of this whole line of thinking is that there is some permanent reality decided 'out there' that the psychic is able to tune in to and which the client has no power to change. If that were the case, no one would have the nerve to come for a reading! I believe the reality is much less dramatic, sad to tell. I think the psychic is only able to look at the client and describe where they are heading based on the information seen at the time of the reading. I think of a reading as describing potent options out there for the client. As I always caution, if you don't like the pictures I describe about your future then DO SOMETHING. Frankly, I believe that at the moment the person hears the future picture if they don't like it their subconscious is already making small choices to veer them away from that potential reality. And conversely, the psychic saying something is about to happen does NOT make it happen... the client makes it happen or not. Again I encourage clients to take action to make their reality! In short, no one should be afraid of hearing a metaphysical type tell them anything. They should look upon the advice as just that... advice, counseling, insight. The real point is what the client does with the information. Too many are willing to turn their life over to the psychic prediction and just sit and wait for something to happen instead of actively taking charge of their life. But there is a larger issue here as well. Thinking back to this same client, it was her desire for insight that overcame her fear of a reading, and I think that is a profound concept nicely shown in the Tarot Chariot card. The problem we humans have is maintaining a balance between those two poles: fear and desire. Both are good and necessary, as long as one does not dominate for too long. Both are forms of energy that drive our vehicle. In the card fear and desire are represented by the two wheels of the chariot. The man, or you, is balanced on the axle between those two necessary forces that keep him moving along as he leaves the familiar city and heads into the unknown. That balancing point can be a tricky place to be! Our balance can be an hour to hour thing. So what is it in the picture that keeps him balanced between these two forces? To summarize several months of study into a few sentences, that force is the canopy overhead which represents the 'unseen forces, whatever you perceive those forces to be.' Those odd critters that look like they're pulling the chariot represent the rational, reasonable, 'real' world, and they are obviously not pulling their weight! They are not the motivating force here. The real guidance system is the unseen forces overhead. So, what does this all mean in real terms? It means you better have a belief in something greater than yourself, and if you don't you better get to the mall and get one fast! It means there are forces at work on us that can be described in many different ways. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FREE: ON-GOING GUIDED VISUALIZATIONS In my weekly salon, members all said they liked it when I led them through a simple visualization where they could dialogue with their subconscious and get answers from inside, instead of always looking for answers on the outside. In This Issue: Pickle Jar Philosophy Don't Ask--Don't Tell Kaballah and Coaching Salon TO-DO list, but how about a TA-DA list? "What does your office look like?" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PICKLE JAR PHILOSOPHY "Becoming the bad patterns you hated in your parents!" Only in my 'mature years' have I begun to realize how many of the patterns I disliked in my parents have begun to ooze up like sludge from the bottom of the pond to surface in my life. I have become my parents. I was reminded of this very recently when I remembered the pickle jar lesson I thought I had learned when I was about 10, but obviously need to not only relearn but actually apply. Unable to open the pickle jar, I handed it to my father who was actually a very kind and generous man even though he swore so constantly that you never really heard it as swearing. He also catastrophized. "It will never open. Just throw the damn thing out. God-damned pickle companies do this all the time to make more money. You'll never get it open so give up. They don't make pickle jars like they used to for Christ's sake." In my young mind, the subject seemed closed. The jar won't open so throw it out. But wait. What's this? All the while he's doing his rant, he's running the lid under hot water and then tapping it with a knife. Presto....we have pickles. Subject closed, rant over, let's eat. What? I remember standing back and realizing this was a big lesson about my father. He may moan and complain but all the while he's actually moving ahead. I saw this pattern over and over. And I learned to use that knowledge to my advantage. "Jesus, no one had a car when I was in high school! We lived through the Great Depression....yada, yada, yada." "Ok Dad, then I won't get a car like the rest of the guys." "No, Christ you need a car to get to school so let's go downtown. What do you want?" (The school was three blocks away....) Now to my horror I find my life filled with pickle jar after pickle jar. Obstacles I face and I hear myself saying, "Forget it. Give up. It will never happen." The first publisher rejects my book so the book goes on the shelf. The screenwriting teacher says this is a good first draft. Draft? DRAFT! Play goes on the shelf. My memory of the pickle jar incident is too often focused on the stuck lid and the ranting father, when I should be focusing on the fact that Dad continued to work till he accomplished what he wanted. And while I don't do his kind of ranting, for Christ's sake, that little voice inside me does. That little boy who represents my subconscious heard the ranting and now he parrots it back to me. "Give up. It will never work." And as I teach my Huna students all the time, now it's the adult's job to overcome that voice which will always be there and to move on EVEN THOUGH I hear that long ago echo. I long ago learned the lesson about Dad and now it's time to apply it to myself. So, Thanks Dad for the lesson. Now....where are the pickle jars in your life? _____________________________________________________________________________ Don't Ask--Don't Tell The care and feeding of a psychic.... A recent caller found me in the Yellow Pages...a red flag for me in the first place! Most of my best clients are referred by other wonderful clients so they start off with a certain attitude toward me and the process. This guy was Mr. Skeptic and wanted me to prove myself as a psychic by telling him just one little tidbit that only he knew about himself. Grandma's maiden name perhaps? Not going to happen. I referred him on to another local psychic who likes to waste time. As I very briefly explained, my kind of reading is not so much fortune telling as it is counseling and besides, I've been doing it for ...gasp...thirty years and am through being tested! But want about the "don't tell" aspect of the title? Oddly, one of the things I often tell clients is "TMI...too much information!" Some people want to tell me the whole story; what the doctor thinks the problem is; how they hope their romantic partner will come back to them; what their attitude is about a situation. I warn clients that I'm not immune to their musings and attitudes! I like to know what the issue is a client wants me to work on, but I prefer not to know what their attitude or hope is about that situation, and especially not what some other 'authority' has said about the situation. It's very difficult to NOT think of what the doctor or lawyer said. It takes me several minutes to get past the official analysis of the situation and to see what I really see about the situation. She also has the TA DA list....a list of the things she has accomplished! TO DO lists can often become overwhelming and add to our sense of 'behindness,' so a TA DA list can help give some perspective to our lives. We HAVE accomplished things! We ARE on track. Whether you believe in them or not, psychic readings are fun to try out if you get the chance. You can find psychics at any tourist stop, late-night commercial or free psychic reading. Just like with most professions, some are better at their job than others. Here's a sample from about three recent coaching clients, all with sole proprietor businesses: How can I increase the size of the data base I market to? This is one of my favorite and most productive tools. I suggest you PIGGYBACK. Let's face it. Especially if you are just starting out in your business, you probably don't have a very big database you can mail or email to. Think of all the people you know who DO have a database they contact on a regular basis. They are probably not going to give you those names, but often they will put an article in their own newsletter describing you and your service. Now your information has gone to perhaps hundreds or thousands of people that you didn't have to find; you don't have to maintain them in your list; you get not only mentioned but in a personal way by someone they apparently know and like so it's more like a 'referral.' If this is your situation, now sit down for about 15 minutes and make a list of everyone you know who might have a list they send to. And yes...you DO know someone with a list. I know that you know at least one person....who is that? Think hard....Yes, it's ME and I often mention and support clients in this very newsletter! I am combining this class on the Tarot with group coaching so that everyone can afford to get help moving forward in their lives. The first 60-90 minutes of the evening is on one Tarot card of the major arcane. I give handouts and articles or poems to help illustrate the card and I go over the major symbols in the card and what the ancient insights are. The point is not so much to learn Tarot but to learn about yourself....how these concepts operate in you...how you could better bring them into practical use. For people just interested in the Tarot, you may want to leave at the break. After the break, we spend another 60 minutes or so on coaching each participant. In this next group my intention is to offer a two hour intake session in my office with each person. This way you really get to focus on what you want to accomplish in the coaching process. Then each week we discuss what you can do that week toward your goal. It's always helpful to hear what others in the group add to your process. I may facilitate the discussion, but much great advice comes from the group process. Also during the 22 week salon, you will have two more hour long sessions with me in my office to discuss your coaching process in detail. If you are only interested in the coaching, you can come to the group at 7:30 and skip the Tarot, and if you only want the Tarot you come at 6 and leave at the break. All are accommodated! AND...if you are interested but not sure, I encourage you to come sit in on one of the next Salons. We will meet 6 more times before finishing this series. You can visit for free and see if you like the idea. COST: (Here comes the real hard sell!) IF you hired me as a coach for 22 weeks, the cost would be: Intake: $300 Weekly session @$85 for 22 weeks: $1870 Total coaching: $2170 IF you just took the Tarot class for 22 weeks at $20 per class: Total $440 TOTAL for the two WOULD HAVE BEEN: $2610 BARGAIN: The cost for the Tarot Coaching Salon is $20 per class X 22 weeks TOTALS: $440. I ask that this be paid up front to make sure you don't drop out, but I am happy to take that in two or three payments. I'm trying to make this easy for everyone in a difficult economic time. "Man, this horrible weather is a Tower Experience!" So say many people in the northwest. We've had record snow that shut down the city for weeks, and now record floods that have, well...at least gotten rid of the snow! But is this a Tower experience? Probably not. This is one of the most misunderstood cards in the deck. Granted, it doesn't look all that pleasant to be thrown off a tower! But when we have a Tower experience, once we've landed we are always grateful that it happened. The Tower is Enlightenment...Illumination...like it or not! You WILL listen and learn this lesson. For me being snowbound was annoying, inconvenient, frustrating, boring, and did I say ANNOYING? But it was not a Tower experience because I gained no huge insight about myself and didn't change my life. On the other hand, if I had used this as the spark of illumination and said "I'm outta here and moving to Zimbabway to work for the Peace Corp".....THAT would have been a Tower experience. I would have used the experience as a catalyst to truly change my life. For the rest of my life I would have looked back at this snowstorm as the event that changed my life. So be careful when you describe yourself as having had a Tower Experience. True insight and change need to have happened. Otherwise it's probably just a case of "Stuff Happens." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WON'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR?
