Spring 2001 - Case Study in Psychic Counseling
REALLY SAVING A REAL BABY
Two years ago I couldn't spell 'medical intuitive' and now I are one, as the old joke goes. It has only been in the past few years that I have been able or rather 'willing' to do psychic readings on medical problems. As time goes on, I get bolder and more confident. I always tell a client to hear my information and then SEEK MEDICAL HELP. You wouldn't let me amputate so don't let me diagnose.
But often the psychic information has been either correct, or has been the spark that led the client or the doctor to the right diagnosis and treatment. Sometimes with dramatic results none more than the story of V and her child.
V came for a reading in August and told of having to quit her corporate job to care for her three year old daughter who suddenly and inexplicably quit speaking. Imagine the ramifications. As years go by, her daughter was unable to function normally in school. She was tested as being extremely retarded. The doctors found a diagnosis of a very strange disorder that occurs extremely rarely with no explanation of the cause and no real hope for treatment. And she's in my office wanting an explanation! Do I see any hope for her now eight year old child? Please?
You'd think I'd have sense enough not to attempt such things, but all I know to do is go into my imaginary 'workshop' and see what I see. And there I see phrases like 'very simple,' 'don't make this difficult,' 'it's a simple cure of something very common such as a vitamin.'
This is all I have to tell this suffering woman? I sound like a doctor saying Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.
But V did take my advice. Or rather, the advice rang true to her and she took the ball and ran with it. She ran to the Internet, naturally! She spent several hours following the threads and links about this disorder. Over and over, she found reference to Vitamin B in the discussion. It kept gnawing at her.
Finally she took her daughter to the doctor and asked for a testing for Vitamin B deficiency, but the doctor refused, claiming it was not possibly related to the issue.
But again, taking the ball and running, she went to a naturopath who specialized in such disorders. She decided not to mention the vitamin theory, but to see where the doctor went with his evaluation. During the course of examining the daughter, he did a test and discovered she was very low in vitamin B and recommended large supplementation.
That was all last fall. When I next saw V in my office, it was February and she came to tell me the story of how her daughter's condition was reversed. By then she was in school doing well. If I were to see her, V said, I would not be aware of any problem. She is 90% recovered from whatever was affecting her, and it was apparently from the use of a simple vitamin.
So what's the lesson here? Was the solution a really great psychic able to leap buildings in a single bound? Was it a terrific doctor trained in this particular field? I don't think so. I think it was a terrific mother who took a piece of information that turned out to be true, and she let her gut feeling lead her to the correct conclusion. She was of course impelled to do this by her daughter's desperate condition. But at some point she 'went upstream' as described in the Saving Babies article. She was no longer caught up in the terrific fight to help her daughter on the daily basis, which must be heartbreaking. Something in her made her stop, evaluate, and go to the source. The doctor and I were merely instruments she used to go upstream and resolve this situation where it started.
If only all problems could be solved with a jolt of vitamins!
