Summer 2000 - Case Study in Psychic Counseling
THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH
Recently I have had a number of clients ask similar questions about my psychic readings. Do you ever tell really bad information? Do you always tell the truth in a reading?
Well! I snort indignantly. Of course I only tell the truth. I'm a professional. I am merely a conduit for truth from a higher source. I can only describe the pictures I'm given. I have no choice but to be truthful.
Wellllll mostly. Usually. Except for some times.
All right. Let's talk.
So maybe I did lie a few times, but don't worry. If you're getting this newsletter, I didn't lie to you. The most obvious cases I recall deal with mentally ill clients. Of course a really good psychic should have known this before making the appointment, but be that as it may I recently had a sweet young woman come to the office and before she sat down I realized this was a terrible mistake. She was a paranoid schizophrenic, and she later acknowledged having had that diagnosis. She was also obviously NOT on her medications, so she was agitated and emotional. And she was IN MY OFFICE! After speaking with her for several minutes to confirm my fears, I pretended to go into my mental 'workshop' and do a reading. What I really did was to THINK FAST. What she most needed was medical attention, and soon. So I did a 'reading' for her where I told her I saw her seeing her regular doctor, getting proper medication, and then I saw her doing very well and managing her own life. She was thrilled with the reading. She had somehow gotten the cash together to pay me and when I handed it back to her we both cried. I made her promise she'd use the money that very day to see her doctor.
This kind of situation has happened a number of times where I felt a lie was the best course maybe the only course.
But there are other situations where I am not totally revealing of my impressions in a reading. Death is one. On only a couple occasions have I voiced my fear that someone in a client's life was about to die. What I usually do is simply describe what I see in the workshop. In a few cases, the person asked about simply doesn't come in. Or they come in and I have a difficult time seeing them, as though they are foggy. Sometimes they simply 'evaporate.' I tell this to the client without giving my interpretation. Maybe the person is simply leaving my client's life through divorce, etc. I'm not the one to make the decision on what it means.
Evil is another difficult topic. I have a VERY clear symbol in my workshop when evil comes in. A velvety blue-black seductive background appears and I feel as though I'm on a ledge being pulled into it. My heart races, I sweat, I want to throw up. It's not an attractive way to ensure repeat business! But this kind of business I can do without. In these readings I never discuss the E word. But I am always very clear to describe what I think the person is like, what I would suggest they do to protect themselves, etc.
And finally, cheating spouses. What a loaded situation. What a way to get myself shot! Again, I have a very specific type of picture for cheating husbands. (Sorry to say, I don't know that I have seen a woman cheating on her man but this is not a scientific sampling mind you.) The husband almost always refuses to come into the workshop, but lurks around outside hiding or being snarly toward me. After a minute of watching, he usually drifts off toward my right and I see him looking at another woman. Here too I simply tell the wife what I see and let her draw her own conclusions. Almost always they come up with the idea he is cheating, or they more often than not already know that. It's old news to them! I'm the one sweating bullets here and they are in my office to find ways to nail him in divorce court!
Now forget that I told you all of this. These situations are rare and unlikely to happen in your previous or future readings. My fear now is that all my clients will grill me after I go to my 'workshop.' Did you see him lurking? Was there a black background? Did you see those three aliens I told you were following me?
