January 2000 - Case Study in Psychic Counseling
LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!
Diane came to me in October of '98 for a psychic reading as a gift from a friend. Won't this be fun and exciting! Something new and exotic for a birthday gift! Innocent lamb. She also nearly insisted on having her friend present, which I typically don't allow, and I'm glad I didn't since she was holding a deep secret. She was living the perfect life. She is beautiful and personable; she is married to the perfect man who provides for the family very well; they lived in the perfect Beaverton home with their two wonderful children. Life was full and complete. Who could want for anything more? This is the heart's desire dream of millions of people. And Diane didn't really want for anything more until I began the psychic reading by saying I saw her in studio lights, in front of a camera, being an actress. Thud! What? She sat there looking dumbstruck and my heart raced. I was either completely right or totally wrong. But when I saw tears begin to break over the surface, I knew I was right. Clients don't cry because I'm wrong! How could you know that? I have told no one, not even my husband. Since I was a small child, it has been my secret desire. Innocent lamb no longer. Her heart's desire had been spoken and revealed, and that is the first step in the process for anyone. Pandora's box. It cannot be put back inside even if she wished it. In January of '99 I got another call from Diane and she wanted to talk about the coaching process. She was feeling what many, even most, psychic clients feel. Frustrated. I was feeling frustrated. The psychic process is often very good at revealing the inner most secret desires, but it does little toward helping people realize those desires. It's one thing to acknowledge the dream of being an actress, but... like... what do you DO? What is the next step? It's a daunting task with no roadmap. Diane and I began the Coaching process and she decided where she wanted to focus her time and energy. We began with Metaphysics 101 and she came, with her husband, to my visualization workshop where she developed the picture of herself as an actress. Then in the Coaching process we began to break it down into manageable, weekly bite size chunks. She told her husband. She even got the nerve to play the tape for her mother, who she thought would be very negative about acting. She told some close friends. She came out of the acting closet and discovered that... well... nothing happened! Her husband was very supportive. Her friends thought it wonderful. Her mother listened quietly! In the reading I had predicted that her husband would leave his local job and start his own company with a friend in California. Within days they were in discussions. Within weeks he quit his job. They put the house on the market. They sold it. They bought a home in Southern California so she could be in the thick of the acting market. By summer they were there! Now in January of 2000 Diane has had her portfolio shots taken, has sent them to dozens of agencies. She is working with a director who is becoming her mentor and wants to put her in one of his productions. She is talking to and working with actors and others in the medium. She's taking an acting class. She doesn't know it till she reads this, but she is about to get her first paid acting job. And all within a year.
So what did she do right that made this all happen? 1. She spoke her heart's desire aloud. In the beginning was the Word. This is not just a biblical or Christian quote. It is an ancient maxim. We cannot have something unless we are able to speak it: define it, describe it, see it in our mind. Nothing comes to us that we don't first perceive. 2. She visualized what she wanted as the end product, which gave her subconscious a template or pattern to follow in all its decision making. 3. She got help from an objective outsider not connected with the outcome. Her coach. 4. She broke down the large, perhaps overwhelming vision, into small manageable actions which magically led to the end picture. 5. She maintains excellent physical health. She goes to an extreme yoga class several times per week. She takes care of her diet diligently. She has the physical energy and emotional stamina to work on her dream, raise two children, and run a household. 6. Most importantly, she got on very good terms with her inner world... her subconscious... her 'inner child' if you will. They are on good speaking terms. She is raising this inner child as lovingly as she raises her other two children. There are no surprises now and she is in conscious control of her life.
And what's next? Acting! First we all get to see her on the screen, and then we will all visualize watching the Academy Awards where we see the willowy longhaired blond with the doe eyes accept her award. Stay tuned... P.S. Minutes after I wrote this, Diane called to say an agent had just called and wants to represent her career! Stay closely tuned...
If we all did the things we are
capable of doing, we would
literally astound ourselves.
