Fall 1999 - Case Study in Psychic Counseling
STILL REELING FROM THE TURN OF EVENTS
Kim was a wonderfully irreverent young woman whom I enjoyed very much from the beginning of the reading. We shared a certain flippancy toward the New Age and laughed over the silly things we had experienced. By the time I started the reading, I was anxious to see what would come up about her in the mental workshop. I expected something dramatic or unusual to fit her somewhat off-the-wall personality.
The first image was of her sitting in a chair looking very annoyed with a small child of 3 or 4. I watched for some time to see what issue would come of this image, but nothing more developed. She simply sat there being upset at being distracted by this noisy child.
The next scene was of her looking much more excited and it appeared that she was moving. She looked behind her, which has usually been a symbol in the Workshop of something in the past. Then came a message on the mental screen which said "Moving Back" and she seemed to get very animated and excited.
When I presented these scenes to her, she was a bit perplexed, especially about the child. I asked if she had a son, assuming this image was current in her life, and I was surprised to learn she had no children. Did she have a child close around her? None.
Moving right along... I presented the image of her moving back to where she had been happy. Was she planning on going back to her hometown? Actually, no! She liked living in Oregon and had no plans to move.
Well. So much for the psychic process I thought. I went on with the reading and concentrated on her work and she seemed pleased with the information, but I wondered what she really thought. I was confused and assumed she was too.
Two days later I received a letter from Kim and was quite apprehensive about opening it. My guess was that she had left the reading, realized it was meaningless and was writing to tell me off. I read the letter somewhat at arms length: Dear Don, I had to write and tell you of the bizarre chain of events that happened immediately after my reading with you last Sunday. You said my most important priority was moving at this time; that I would be moving back somewhere, where I had been happy, and that I should get this ball rolling right away. You also saw a small child disturbing me, which puzzled both of us.
An hour after I returned home from the reading, I met the new next door tenant moving into my duplex, which has paper thin walls. She introduced herself and told me she had a 3-year-old son! Needless to say, this sent me into a tizzy because having one person in that unit is bad enough.
Then a friend showed up and I told her I was really going to have to move now, and she said to me, 'What about Dave's house?' (Dave, if you recall is my friend that died last week.) At first I said no way, but she suggested we drive by the house, and it IS a charming little bungalow on a quiet street. I had many wonderful times in that house, and it has a sweet garden. Somehow it seemed very right. So I called his parents and they invited me to dinner the next day. Right before dinner, they were talking about the house and what a chore it was going to be to sell it, and they asked me if I knew anyone who would like it. They were delighted when I said I would!
I'm still reeling from this turn of events. I usually complain that things don't happen fast enough for me, but this was swift indeed. And coming immediately on the heels of your reading gives it a Gus-Van-Sant movie kind of feel. Isn't life fascinating? And, I thought you'd be interested to know that your movie screen is definitely in top working order. This is probably the exception, but I've never had a reading prove to be so right on the mark so quickly before. Thanks a Million!
